The CIG are delighted to invite you to join a panel discussion focusing on defending and advocating for a diversified range of asset classes. The panel will be hosted by the CIG’s Committee Chair, James Thornton, and will feature representatives from equities, bonds, property, and alternative investments.
This session is designed to be particularly valuable for charity investors, with specialists in each asset class providing their insights on current market conditions, the role of their respective asset classes within a diversified portfolio, and how they can help meet long-term investment objectives in an evolving economic environment.
Panellists:
Equity specialist: Ruben Brooke, Portfolio Manager, LGT Wealth Management UK
Ruben is a portfolio manager at LGT focused on multi-asset funds and strategies. He joined the business following LGT's acquisition of Aberdeen's discretionary fund management business in 2023 where he was part of the central investment team.
Bond specialist: Andrew Pottie, Investment Director, Cazenove Capital
Andrew leads the fixed income, money markets and structured products investment strategy for Cazenove Capital. He previously worked as a senior portfolio manager at Titan Asset Management. He is the chair of the Cazenove fixed income asset class group.
Property specialist: Simon Martindale, Fund Director, Swiss Life Asset Managers UK
Simon is an experienced property fund manager with over 20 years’ experience. He joined Mayfair Capital (now Swiss Life) over 14 years ago and is fund manager for the Property Income Trust for Charities, a specialist tax efficient pooled property vehicle. Simon also works with other endowments as well acting on behalf of UK pension funds.
Alternatives specialist: Tom Yeowart, Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Troy Asset Management
Tom helps to lead the firm’s investment research and equity analysis. Since joining Troy in 2014, he has played a key role in managing client portfolios, including overseeing the multi-manager Spectrum Fund until its merger with Trojan Global Equity in 2022.
