Presentation 1: Investing to ensure your charity’s financial sustainability (35 minutes)
Ian Gamon, Partner and Head of Investment for Charities, Endowments & Foundations at Lane Clark & Peacock, will focus on how to organise charity investments to help charities run smoothly. He will cover sustainable investment rules, liquidity management to meet ongoing cashflow requirements and setting a liquidity budget within the strategic asset allocation.
Lane Clark & Peacock (LCP) is one of the largest owner-managed pensions and investment consultancies in the UK with around 1,100 people, 160 of whom are dedicated investment professionals. LCP advises over £650bh of assets, of which over £11bn is charity assets. LCP does not offer any competing services such as fiduciary management.
Presentation 2: Should charities invest in illiquid markets and if so how? (35 minutes)
Hamza Azeem, Managing Director on Hamilton Lane’s Portfolio Management Group, and Freddie Gore Browne, Principal in Private Wealth Solutions at Hamilton Lane, will look at the benefits and difficulties of investment in illiquid asset classes (eg private equities, private credit and infrastructure). He will cover the difficulties associated with traditional closed-ended illiquid funds and details of newer more innovative products that provide investors with more flexibility.
Hamilton Lane manage and advise on over $950bn and invest $30-40bn a year into private markets. They have one of the leading semi-liquid / evergreen private market fund platforms helping HNW, Charities and Endowments access private markets in more accessible structures.
